SAN DIEGO - San Diego Superior Court Judge Robert C. Coates retired Sunday after serving more than 28 years on the bench.
He presided for four years over the Municipal Court's civil division, handling civil jury trials, and assignments in juvenile court and family law, and most recently as a criminal trial judge.
