A Santa Clara County Superior jury returned a verdict of nearly $800,000 this week in the first in a series of suits related to an alleged Ponzi scheme targeting Bay Area seniors.
According to attorneys with Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, which filed the suit, disgraced real estate developer James Ward bilked roughly 200 seniors out of millions through a fake investment scheme.
