U.S. Attorneys Collected Record Fees in 2009

The four California-based U.S. attorney's offices collected $721.3 million from defendants in the last fiscal year, representing more than a tenth of the $6.7 billion total captured by offices across the entire country.

WASHINGTON - The four California-based U.S. attorney's offices collected $721.3 million from defendants in the last fiscal year, representing more than a tenth of the $6.7 billion total captured by offices across the entire country, according to figures released by the Justice Department Thursday.
