S.D. Bar President Youngest in Its History

Passionate about his job as a deputy district attorney in the family protection unit, new San Diego County Bar Association President Dan Link is equally enthusiastic about his goals for the 10,000-member association in the coming year.

SAN DIEGO - The year was 1999. Dan Link was a young law student interning with the San Diego County district attorney's office, and he had just been handed a rare opportunity: Tackling his first felony case.


His supervisor, Brenda Daly, assured him the defendant, who walked away from a work-furlough facility, would plead guilty. But the defendant had a change of heart. He wanted a trial.
