State Bar board approves reversal of $1.6M transfer

The board also recently adopted a policy that will prohibit the agency from pledging attorneys' dues revenue as collateral for loan agreements.

The State Bar's board recently authorized staff to reimburse the agency's Lawyer Assistance Program $1.6 million in the aftermath of a legally questionable transfer from the program's reserves earlier this year.

The board also adopted a policy that will prohibit the bar from pledging attorneys' dues revenue as collateral for loan agreements as it did early in the year.
