State Bar Recommends Monterey Judge Be Readmitted to Practice

A State Bar Court judge recommended last week that Jose Velasquez, who was kicked off the Monterey County bench in 2007 for various violations, be allowed to practice law again.

SAN FRANCISCO - A State Bar Court judge recommended that Jose Velasquez, who was kicked off the Monterey County bench in 2007, be allowed to practice law again.

The state Supreme Court must still decide whether to terminate Velasquez's suspension, but State Bar Court Judge Patrice McElroy found the suspended judge had made up for his errors.
