LOS ANGELES - Vernon W. Hunt, a lawyer who earned accolades for defending the underdog while staying true to his ideals, has died. Hunt died of cancer Sept. 21 at the Anaheim Hills home of his son, Vernon W. Hunt III. He was 73.
