Following the massive attorney layoffs announced by Palo Alto-based Cooley Godward and Fenwick & West, California Law Business decided to visit the Silicon Valley to hear the stories of those affected. On a recent Monday night, a reporter gathered a group of laid-off associates for drinks, dinner and discussion. Doing so wasn't easy. Those who participated demanded confidentiality.
