Verizon ordered to pay royalties in patent case

A Virginia federal judge has ordered Verizon Communications Inc. to pay nearly $11 million per month in royalties to San Jose-based ActiveVideo Networks Inc.

In the wake of a $115 million jury verdict in August, a Virginia federal judge has ordered Verizon Communications Inc. to pay nearly $11 million per month in royalties to San Jose-based ActiveVideo Networks Inc. for infringing four of its patents.
