Northern District hires new magistrate

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District announced Thursday it has selected a new magistrate judge.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District announced Thursday it has selected a new magistrate judge.

Kandis Westmore has been a deputy city attorney in Oakland since 1999. She previously served as a judicial extern to Northern District Judge Saundra Brown Armstrong. Her selection is subject to a background check.

She plans to maintain chambers in Oakland, as will newly confirmed U.S. District Judge Yvonne Go...
