LOS ANGELES - Jail inmate Marlon Martinez, who died in his cell on Christmas Day after complaining of deputy abuse, succumbed to a heroin overdose, according to a coroner's report released this week.
Coroner's examiners found Martinez, 22, died with high levels of opiates in his system, showing no outward signs of major physical trauma.
