Governor Brown appoints general counsel for California Natural Resources Agency
The position does not require a state Senate confirmation and Christopher H. Calfee will assume his new role Jan. 17.

Christopher H. Calfee was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown this week as general counsel and deputy secretary of the California Natural Resources Agency.
He replaces Thomas Gibson, who was appointed undersecretary at the agency in November.
