Proposed VW securities litigation survives defense motion

A proposed securities class action against Volkswagen AG will go forward after most of the company's motion for summary judgment was denied by a San Francisco federal judge.

SAN FRANCISCO — A proposed securities class action against Volkswagen AG will go forward after most of the company's motion for summary judgment was denied by a federal judge.

U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer of the Northern District did grant several aspects of the VW motion on Wednesday, although he gave plaintiffs the option to amend their complaint.
