Volkswagen settles with state over more polluting vehicles

Attorney General Kamala D. Harris and the California Air Resources Board announced Tuesday that they have reached a $66 million settlement with Volkswagen AG over the company's use of software that evaded emissions tests on diesel vehicles.

Volkswagen AG has agreed to pay $66 million to settle litigation over the company's use of software that evaded emissions tests on diesel vehicles, the California attorney general and the Air Resources Board announced Tuesday.

The money is part of a $225 million national settlement covering 83,000 3.0-liter Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche diesel vehicles. Negotiations...
