Budget Woes Put New Judge Positions on Hold
SAN FRANCISCO - The cavalry will be quite a bit slower in getting to California's trial courts, thanks to the state's budget woes. On Thursday, the Senate and Assembly approved legislation that would delay for a year funding for 50 new trial court judges approved in 2007 - until June of 2009.
