Medeiros served as solicitor general of California since 2002. He oversaw all of the state's cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and state Supreme Court.

Manuel Medeiros, solicitor general of California, retired last month after 10 years in the position.


As solicitor general, Medeiros was responsible for overseeing the agency's work in the U.S. Supreme Court and state Supreme Court. He also oversaw the agency's amicus curiae work and managed its advisory opinions unit. He had worked in state service for 36 years, 28 of them at the state attorney...
