Two days after Memorial Day we found out that Los Angeles County is now home to 4,828 homeless veterans.

In the past year, veterans experienced a disproportionate increase in homelessness. While unarguably significant, Los Angeles County's homeless population increased 23 percent, while the number of homeless veterans jumped over double that percentage - 57 percent year over year. This brings it above the 2015 level that brought heightened attention to veterans' homelessness.
