Court's Amendments Improve Bankruptcy 'Rules of the Road'

Focus Column - Bankruptcy Law - By Wesley H. Avery - The Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California has amended its Local Bankruptcy Rules effective May 1. While a couple of the changes are cosmetic, most are substantial and will affect bankruptcy lawyers who practice in the consumer-debtor area greatly. These latest amendments deal chiefly with Chapter 13 practice, court approval of reaffirmation agreements and motions to be heard on an exigent basis.
