Venture Capital Investment Falls to New Low

Investments by venture capitalists have fallen to their lowest level in five years, according to a new survey. Venture investments fell to $3.8 billion in the first quarter of 2003, down 12 percent from $4.3 billion in the fourth quarter of last year. The total number of companies receiving funding dropped 14 percent, from 726 to 623.
