Hard-Core Defender Takes on New Role
Ellen Barry has assumed leadership of the group of attorneys in California's Central District who represent indigent defendants. In this role, she is the point person, keeping the 130 attorneys advised of new law, communicating with the judiciary and acting as an unofficial ombudsman.
