Judge urges Samsung and Apple to narrow case

There will be a June 29 hearing on Apple's motion for a preliminary injunction blocking the sale of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.

SAN JOSE - U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh said Thursday she will probably not eliminate many of Apple Inc.'s and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. 's patent and other claims against each other, but urged the two companies to narrow the case on their own before the scheduled July 30 trial. The judge's announcement that the "vast majority" of claims would survive came at the end of more than five hours of pretrial hearings in the case...
