There appears to be a growing consensus about the replacement for Attorney General Kamala D. Harris, who will likely be elected to the U.S.Senate on Nov. 8: it probably won't be Anne Gust Brown, the governor's wife.
She has been a trendy guess since Harris announced her candidacy, but several Sacramento insiders have said that such an appointment is unlikely.
