Thomas Jefferson dean announces he is stepping down

Thomas F. Guernsey says he feels he has helped the law school stabilize its finances.

SAN DIEGO — Thomas Jefferson School of Law Dean Thomas F. Guernsey, who helped the school address some severe challenges during his tenure, has announced he is retiring at the end of the academic year.

Guernsey, who started at the school in July 2013, said his last day will be June 30, 2017. Thomas Jefferson is seeking a new dean to start July 1.
