Appellate Court Upholds Three-Strikes Conviction

LOS ANGELES - In the first word from a state appellate court since a federal appeals court cast doubt on California's three strikes law, a San Diego court has said it is not cruel and unusual punishment to impose life sentences on defendants with prior convictions for serious or violent crimes who then commit lesser crimes.
