Unclaimed Bodies Signify Horror of Dying Poor

LOS ANGELES - For those who die poor and lonely in Los Angeles, little has changed in the past century. Ledgers kept in the chapel at the Los Angeles County Cemetery reveal their stories. There, among dusty baby caskets and a hand-carved oak pipe organ last played in the 1970s, stands a large, four-door cabinet decorated with hand-painted murals.
