Surgeon's Award Cut to $6 Million
Disability insurer UnumProvident Corp. won't have to pay $31.7 million to a Navato eye surgeon after all. A Marin County Superior Court judge reduced the original verdict to $6 million in a post-trial motion dated March 25. The verdict, handed down Jan. 23, was the largest-ever in Marin County Superior Court.
