Delayed Notice May Not Result in Coverage Loss

Pasich - Most insurance policies contain provisions requiring that an insured notify the carrier "as soon as practicable" of a claim or loss that might be covered by the policy. If the insured delays notification, a carrier may deny coverage or reserve its right to deny coverage. However, in many situations, a delay will not result in a loss of coverage.
