Court to Sample 'Napa' Wine Statute
SAN FRANCISCO - The California Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to step into the long-running battle over what constitutes Napa Valley wine. Six of the court's seven justices agreed to decide the validity of a 2000 state law that prohibits mandating that any brand name containing the word "Napa" or any sub-region of Napa must include at least 75 percent grapes from that area.
