SAN DIEGO - Steven Clayton Stafford, chief deputy U.S. marshal for the Southern District of California, has been nominated by President Obama to serve as a U.S. Marshal.
Stafford started his law enforcement career in 1980 as one of the first cooperative education student trainees in the U.S. Marshals Service, assigned in the District of New Jersey.
