President Obama on Wednesday nominated Whittier Police Chief David Mark Singer to serve as U.S. Marshal for the Central District of California.
Whittier's top cop since 2001, Singer is a U.S. Air Force veteran who began his law enforcement career in 1979.
He spent 21 years at the Signal Hill Police Department five as chief of police.
