A state legislator is trying to create an exception for the developers of a new courthouse in Long Beach that would allow the group of companies to avoid having to pay a tax of as much as $5 million per year on the project.
Assemblywoman Bonnie Lowenthal gutted and amended an unrelated bill, AB 1341, last month to create a bill that would almost entirely exclude a private development...
