Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has picked 3rd District Court of Appeal Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye as the next chief justice of California.
Cantil-Sakauye, 50, of Sacramento, would be the first Filipina chief justice. She is a moderate Republican and member of the Judicial Council, the policy-making body of the courts.
