RIVERSIDE - As trial began Tuesday in the Log Cabin Republicans' closely watched attempt to overturn the U.S. government's policy barring gays from serving openly in the military, attorneys with the Department of Justice announced that they would not be presenting any evidence or witnesses to challenge the gay rights group's case.
