WASHINGTON - The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on U.S. Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan next week after Republicans called Tuesday for an extra week to study her record.
The move was expected, as committee rules allow members to hold up a vote on any nominee for a week.
The committee vote will now take place on July 20.
