Riverside Gets New Presiding Judge

Judge Sherrill Ellsworth will take the helm of the Superior Court in the region that has experienced a lot of growing pains.

RIVERSIDE - Riverside County's judges elected veteran jurist Sherrill Ellsworth as presiding judge.

Ellsworth, 51, served as a commissioner for a decade before being appointed as a Superior Court judge in 2005. She will begin her two-year term in the administrative position in January, replacing Judge Thomas Cahraman, who will resume hearing cases.
