Lawyer Cleared of Mishandling Murder Case

The state Supreme Court said Irwindale defense lawyer Anthony Robusto did not mishandle a 1992 murder trial that sent his client to death row.

The California Supreme Court cleared Irwindale defense lawyer Anthony Robusto on Thursday of accusations he mishandled a 1992 murder trial that sent his client to death row.

What appeared to be possible mistakes at the trial turned out to be tactical decisions on Robusto's part, the unanimous court ruled. In re Valdez, 2010 DJDAR 10603.
