LOS ANGELES - A lawyer representing six Nicaraguans who claim Dole Food Co.'s use of pesticides at banana farms in the 1970s made them sterile, accused the company during a hearing Wednesday of exploiting the judge's concern for witness safety in a bid to get her to dismiss the lawsuit.
