Former US attorney chief was known as mentor to others

Frederick Maurice Brosio, Jr., who served as chief of the civil division of the Central District U.S. attorney's office from 1965 to 1991, died Jan. 17. He was 84.

Frederick Maurice Brosio, Jr., who served as chief of the civil division of the Central District U.S. attorney's office from 1965 to 1991, died Jan. 17. He was 84.


Those who worked under him said he served as a mentor to younger lawyers and was respected by bench officers. With his tutelage, several assistant U.S. attorneys went on to take the bench in state and federal courts.
