MoFo helps VMware with $1.5 billion acquisition

In antother billion-dollar deal for the cybersecuity world, a Bay Area MoFo deal team helped longtime client VMware acquire Atlanta-based mobile device protection and management company AirWatch.

Palo Alto-based virtualization software maker VMware Inc. tapped longtime corporate counsel at Morrison & Foerster LLP to assist with its $1.54 billion acquisition of AirWatch LLC, a deal announced Wednesday.


San Francisco partner Robert S. Townsend, who led MoFo's deal team, said the firm has handled a range of corporate work for VMware over the past five years or so.
