Central District federal public defender to step down for position at Loyola Law School

Sean Kennedy's move comes on the heels of a difficult year for the office, which faced a series of funding crises related to the federal government's sequestration battles and other budget squabbles.

LOS ANGELES - Sean Kennedy, federal public defender for the state's Central District, will step down from the post he's held since 2006 to take a faculty position at Loyola Law School in August, according to the school and other sources.
