Longtime justice Paul R. Haerle plans to retire

The 20-year veteran of the 1st District Court of Appeal and former head of the California Republican Party said he will retire in June.

Paul R. Haerle, a 20-year veteran of the 1st District Court of Appeal and former head of the California Republican Party, said Wednesday he plans to retire in June.


His retirement will bring to three the number of vacancies on the San Francisco-based appellate court.
