IRVINE CHIP COMPANY LINKS UP WITH TELECOM
Broadcom Corp. has agreed to acquire Mobilink Telecom Inc. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal was announced April 8. Irvine's Broadcom makes and sells broadband communication chips used in cable modems, networking gear and servers. Its customers include Motorola Inc., 3Com Corp. and IBM Corp.
