ALLTRISTA CORP. FINALIZES $160 MILLION ACQUISITION

Alltrista Corp. has agreed to acquire Tilia International Inc. for $160 million. The deal was announced March 28. Rye, N.Y.-based Alltrista makes and sells food preservation products, including jars for canning and fruit preservatives. Its brands include Ball, Kerr and Fruit-Fresh.
