SOLECTRON BUYS LUCENT TOOLS FOR $125 MILLION

Solectron Corp. has agreed to buy equipment and inventory from Lucent Technologies Inc. for $125 million. This is part of a three-year agreement in which Solectron will produce optical networking equipment for Lucent Technologies. The deal was announced March 28.
