BPB BUYS HARDIE GYPSUM BUSINESS FOR $345 MILLION
BPB will acquire the United States-based gypsum business from James Hardie Industries. The cash sale is worth $345 million. The sale includes three gypsum wallboard plants in Seattle, Las Vegas and Nashville, Ark, a joint treatment plant and a gypsum grinding and packaging facility. Gypsum is a mineral used to make plaster of Paris. The deal is expected to close this month.
