Highly-Regarded Santa Cruz Judge Eyes Appellate Bench

SAN FRANCISCO - Santa Cruz Superior Court Judge Richard McAdams lacks the jaded mien of someone who's been in the same job for a quarter century. As the longest sitting judge in the county, the 59-year-old jurist has presided over thousands of cases, from murders to land disputes to child custody battles. He once was asked to marry a former nun to a convicted killer.
