CFTC approves whistle-blower program

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved Thursday a program to reward whistle-blowers who deliver information leading to successful enforcement actions.

WASHINGTON - The Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved Thursday a program to reward whistle-blowers who deliver information leading to successful enforcement actions. The Securities and Exchange Commission endorsed a similar measure in May.

Both regulators created their whistle-blower programs under the Dodd-Frank Act, the sprawling legislation Congress passed in response to the financial system meltdown in 2008.<...
