Little Tokyo plaza gets $5.6 million in eminent domain case

The Little Tokyo shopping plaza will receive $5.6 million from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority for the regulatory taking of property related to the extension of the city's subway system, a superior court jury ruled.

The Los Angeles County transportation authority will pay owners of the Little Tokyo shopping plaza $5.6 million for the regulatory taking of two downtown tunnels needed to extend the city's subway system ? a favorable verdict, the agency said.
