U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Senior Judge John T. Noonan, Jr. dies at home

The 90-year-old jurist worked until the final months of his life, authoring his last opinion in December.

9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Senior Judge John T. Noonan Jr., a jurist known for his devout Catholicism in scholarship and opinions, died Monday at his Berkeley residence, according to a court announcement.

Noonan, who was 90, was a 1985 Ronald Reagan appointee to the 9th Circuit and worked until the last months of his life, authoring his last opinion in December.
