Dolgen California ordered to pay for environmental violations

The parent corporation of Dollar General was sued under claims that locations throughout California had unlawfully handled and disposed of various hazardous wastes and materials over five years.

A judge has ordered the parent corporation of Dollar General to pay $1.125 million as part of a civil settlement for environmental violations Thursday.

The Tennessee-based company, Dolgen California, was sued under claims that Dollar General locations throughout California had unlawfully handled and disposed of various hazardous wastes and materials over five years, according to a news release from Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin.
